Citizen Kane (Apt, Adult Section, BPM - NYC)

DJ Citizen Kane has been a fixture on the New York music scene since 1990. Currently he is the Saturday night resident @ APT in NYC. since 2000. His party "The Deep End" has been a premier night for soulful, leftfield, dirty and Balearic sounds. Guests have included, DJ Harvey, Danny Krivit, Norman Jay, and Kyoto Jazz Massive to name a few.

Kane was a Disco and Old School buyer for NYC's infamous A1 records. He has released two mix CD's of rare soul, funk and disco with Chairman Mao, Selects 001 (1999) and The Greatest Part (2002) both of which were nominated for "Album of the Year" in the Village Voice jazz and pop critics poll.

Kane has a new mix CD forthcoming from Sandinista in Japan. (Adult Section). It covers a wide range of leftfield disco and house sounds, an accompanying 12" of his edits will also be released.

Kane has played numerous gigs worldwide from small clubs to large venues. He has been featured on countless mix and radio shows. He currently is a featured guest on the HouseNation show, www.eastvillageradio.com

Kane has a monthly column in BPM Magazine entitled Study Masters. Each month he discusses music in depth with a seminal figure, past interviewees have been Harvey, Kenny Dope, and Keb Darge. The September issue features David Mancuso.
